Caerphilly County Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for a Theatre & Arts Service Manager at our Blackwood Miners’ Institute. We are seeking a driven, dynamic, and skilled leader who can support the team during a period of transition and deliver our organisational aims. The role is a fixed term contract basis until 1st June 2025.

As Theatre and Arts Service Manager, you will lead the delivery of our business plan and strategic aims:

  • To provide high quality, accessible arts and entertainment for the people of Blackwood and Caerphilly County Borough,
  • To improve the mental and physical health of our local community by delivering arts projects that address the key challenges people are facing with a specific focus on those who have a low level of engagement with arts and culture,
  • To promote the Welsh language and support the development of Welsh language performances and arts projects,
  • To minimise our environmental impact and advocate for a zero-carbon arts industry in Wales.

Also to be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership with specific emphasis on navigating change, financial and people management, income generation and programming.  So, it is vital that a successful applicant can lead with confidence through this transitional period and provide calm, reassurance and leadership to the team.



For the role, we ask that you are:

 

  • Educated to degree level with a keen interest in the arts.
  • Have a working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work, Environmental Health, First Aid, Risk Assessments, Fire and Licensing, Disability Discrimination Act, Data Protection Act plus Computerised Box Office systems.
  • Flexible in your approach to work and able to work outside normal office hours including evenings and weekends.
