Pembrokeshire County Council seeks quotes for the design, management and delivery of a public community music performance event in Haverfordwest Town Centre September 2024 funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The event will be the culmination performance of a community project that is already underway. It will involve professional musicians, community musicians and local choirs to perform a new Cantata by composer Alex McGee called The Children of St Saviours. A cantata is a narrative piece of music for voice and instruments and it will tell the story of Haverfordwest’s rich history, particularly relating to findings from recent archaeological digs at Western Quayside. The event will encourage the local community to engage in their history and evolving town centre landscape in new, exploratory, and creative ways and will appeal to local residents and visitors alike.

The event will be held on 14th September 2024 (TBC). It is anticipated that it will attract 500-1000 people.

The event is expected to:

  • Celebrate and acknowledge Haverfordwest’s rich heritage and culture
  • Increase pride in place among communities and visitors to Haverfordwest
  • Increase footfall in the town centre
  • Increase visitor numbers to the town centre
  • Improve people’s perception of events taking place in the town centre

The successful supplier is expected to manage the event process from start to finish, beginning with supporting the project team in developing the creative vision for the event, working closely with subcontractors to deliver creative content with primary school children, co-ordinating a children’s choir, negotiating with relevant PCC departments to secure licences and permission, securing venues and staging, marketing, managing all event related logistics and health and safety measures, and handling post event logistics and tidy up.

Quotes are invited in the region of £22,000. Quotes over £24,999 will be rejected.

Deadline for quotes Tuesday 19th March 5 pm
