The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre is thrilled to announce auditions for the Young Company of the upcoming 2024 Dick Whittington pantomime. This exciting opportunity invites talented young performers from the Newport and Torfaen boroughs, aged 9 to 14 (there is a max height restriction of 5’3”), to showcase their skills and become part of a magical theatre experience.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, where aspiring actors will have the chance to dance and sing, for a spot in one of three performing teams: Rats, Cats, and Pirates. Registrations open at 9:30am with auditions taking place from 10am – 3pm.
The audition will include young people learning a short dance routine, singing as a group. They may be asked to recite a very short poem or joke of their choice. All talented youngsters are welcome, whether they go to drama school, study drama or dance in school or are looking to tread the boards for the first time.
Young performers will have the opportunity to perform alongside pantomime favourites, Richard Elis, Gareth Tempest and Aled Pugh in this year’s production. Those auditioning MUST be available for all dates throughout rehearsals and the run.
This beloved seasonal production promises a vibrant journey, from rehearsals to a series of performances spanning from November 27th, 2024, to January 4th, 2025.
