About WMC/Our Department:

We are seeking a brilliant Assistant Producer: Digital Experiences to continue developing our digital programme in 2024/2025. The role will be key in supporting the Senior Producer: Digital Experiences and Immersive Arts Producers building on our portfolio to support artists understanding ways that current and emerging technology can be used to enhance an artists practice. You will also play a key role as part of the operations team running our immersive and XR focused venue, Bocs.

The Assistant Producer will work with the Senior Producer: Digital Experiences in the Producing and Programming team providing planning, administrative and delivery support to a portfolio of immersive based experiences.

About the Role and Responsibilities:

This unique role will report to the Senior Producer – Digital Experiences working as part of a busy team supporting the delivery of our digital programme alongside supporting our Immersive Arts team in Wales. You will work with artists and studio who are experimenting with new forms of narrative and new technologies. You will be based at Wales Millennium Centre, becoming part of a wider Arts & Creative team.

  • To support the delivery of Wales Millennium Centre’s Digital Experiences programme, working alongside the Senior Producer: Digital Experiences on the day to day delivery within the team.
  • On providing administrative support to our immersive storytelling programme working with artists and creative teams on a range of digital development initiatives and partnerships
  • Lead and support the operation team and staff running our venue, Bocs
  • To assist with the management of good working relationships and communication with departments within the organization, particularly front of house teams and Bocs staff
  • Led by the Senior Producer: Digital Experiences you will support the delivery of projects across the digital experiences programme.

  • Work closely with the Senior Producer: Digital Experiences to plan and deliver our digital programme from ideation, production to exhibition.
  • Work collaboratively and help form effective partnerships good working relationships internally to help us deliver experiences within our public spaces.
  • To support the Senior Producer: Digital Experiences in programming relevant work that can be presented within our public spaces and R&D programmes.
  • Provide support to artists as part of our Immersive Arts programme including allocation of spaces and resources.
  • Work with the development and marketing teams to ensure that we capture relevant data across our digital experiences programme.
  • Responsible for a range of administrative duties including managing trackers and other finance systems such as Sage. gathering information for customer visitor experiences team and volunteers.
  • Provide some support when required on all levels of research, development and production.
  • Represent WMC and the programme at meetings, events, receptions. and conferences.

Your role may be subject to a DBS check

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of relationship management and working within partnership projects.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Good communication and networking skills in person, in writing and by telephone.
  • Understanding of how artists and creative studios work and the support that they need in developing new work for development and exhibition.
