Ramps Cymru (working title) is a new partnership made up of The Sherman Theatre, Pontio Arts Centre, The Torch Theatre, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and Theatr Clwyd.
Ramps Cymru aims to instigate meaningful and sustainable change to improve the representation of disabled people (including Deaf, neurodivergent and learning disabled people) across the mainstream theatre sector in Wales.
We received funding from the Connect & Flourish programme at Arts Council Wales to employ Sara Beer as Director for Change and as a result of the recent investment review have received further strategic funding to extend the initiative into a long term programme.
We are now looking to employ 5 part-time Agents for Change to develop this unique opportunity with the partner organisations. Having Agents for Change working in each partner venue will assist with the organisational change we want to see across the theatre sector in Wales.
The roles will be offered to those who identify as Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent and have a passion for making change within the theatre sector in Wales.
The Agents will be employed by Theatr Clwyd but line managed by the Director for Change and a member of the partners leadership team. They will be based at a partner venue of their choice but there will be opportunities to work closely with the Agents in other venues so a willingness to travel across Wales is desirable.
