Arts Council of Wales Investment Review 2020
Held every five years, the Arts Council’s Investment Reviews decide which organisations the Arts Council will revenue fund for the next five‑year period. It’s an open‑to‑application process that includes existing annually funded organisations (the Arts Portfolio Wales), and any ‘new’ organisations that are bidding to become a member of the Arts Portfolio Wales.
The Investment Review opened for applications on 2 March with a 24 April 2020 deadline. Decisions were scheduled to be taken in October, with new funding arrangements put in place from April 2021.
It’s quite clear that it would not be viable – or fair – for us to continue with the current Investment Review process. With many organisations involved in an immediate fight for survival, an Investment Review would be an unhelpful distraction for you and for us.
We are therefore postponing the Investment Review for one year. Read our latest update here.
For existing Arts Portfolio Wales organisations
As a member of the Portfolio, you are one of our essential partners in helping to deliver the strategic priorities set out in our Corporate Plan 2018-23: For the benefit of all.
On this page you'll find information and documents that are directly relevant to you. If you can't find what you're looking for, please get in touch with us.
The Resilience Programme
Please note that the Resilience Programme is closed to new applicants at present
It’s tough out there at the moment, particularly for arts organisations. Our Arts Portfolio Wales Resilience Programme lets us work with the Portfolio to future-proof your businesses.
This programme isn’t just about cash. That isn’t, in our view, the most effective way to drive change and ‘future-proof’ organisations. Instead, we take a look at what’s going on in an organisation, and work to find some of the answers together. We might invest some money later, but that isn’t the starting point for the programme. Read more about our Resilience Programme.
Register for the Arts Portfolio Wales Survey
Every six months, we survey all members of the Arts Portfolio Wales. The survey gathers information on the number of arts events run every year and how many people have attended or taken part in the activities. We also compile other statistics (on employment and demographic engagement, for example) which help us to build up a richer picture of the state of the arts in Wales.
