Social Media Policy and Community Guidelines

Our social media channels are monitored during regular office hours. While we do occasionally share messages over the weekends and public holidays, our pages are not monitored during this period, and therefore responses will be delayed.

We use social media to share information from the Arts Council of Wales. This includes promoting our funding schemes, services, opportunities, activities, and sharing the impact of our work. We also aim to engage with our followers through creative content, celebrating and providing a platform for the arts across Wales, and promoting any services or opportunities that may be of interest to our audience.

Our Direct Messages are regularly monitored, but we do not usually prioritise messages received through our social media channels. If you have a specific question or concern that requires a specific response, please contact us directly.

We will share our content in both Welsh and English and followers may engage with us in either language.

We want to ensure that our social media channels provide a safe environment for those connected with Arts Council of Wales and those interacting with our channels. This includes visitors to our sites, our followers as well as those we work with, individuals, organisations, partners, stakeholders and our staff. Our social media activity is consistent with our values and goals as an organisation.

Our social media policy and community guidelines emphasise our commitment to using social media positively, promoting effective communication, and protecting user privacy. Our expectations for online behaviour and conditions of use for social media are outlined here.

Behaviour Standards:

We welcome the opinions of our audience, whether positive or negative, but we ask that you treat each other, as well as the individuals who manage Arts Council of Wales accounts, with respect and courtesy.

  • Offensive or illegal content
  • False, defamatory, and libelous statements about an individual or organization

Comment Moderation:

We reserve the right to remove any content that contains any of the above, and we will report any messages that violate the terms of use of the platform set by platform providers.

Response to Inappropriate Behaviour:

We will respond appropriately to any inappropriate online behaviour by investigating, addressing the matter, or reporting back as per the appropriate guidelines.

Engage with Our Community:
