The Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic Section Principal Double Bass to join its full-time contract orchestra. Resident at Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre, WNO Orchestra is one of two, permanent, full-time ensembles at the centre of the Company, alongside the WNO Chorus. As a national company with international status, WNO sits at the heart of music-making in Wales and plays a valuable role in the communities it serves in England.
What will be required of you?
· To play Section Double Bass with WNO Orchestra as part of all its full-scale opera, recording and significant concert remit.
· To play Section Principal Double Bass in smaller ensembles as part of WNO’s project remit as required by the Company.
· To be an active contributor to WNO’s programmes of engagement projects across Wales and England.
What will you need to have?
· A very high standard of technical instrumental skill, musicality, and performance.
· Demonstrable principal experience.
· Experience of playing with professional opera/ballet/symphony orchestras.
· Ability to work as part of a team.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Good communication skills.

£43,964 Per Annum
