We wish to appoint a studio technician to support the setting up and organisation of our new Print Centre. In addition to the paid technician’s role we are offering the opportunity to have personal use of our artist residency space 1 day a week.

Mid Wales Arts is a thriving community organisation in a unique setting, with 3 sought after contemporary galleries, 2 art studios, artist residency spaces, spacious grounds and a cafe. We offer a wide range of art workshops and clubs with particular emphasis on ceramics and printmaking.

This post has come about thanks to an award by Powys Shared Prosperity Fund to enable our transition to becoming a sustainable arts centre. This position is funded for 6 months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Researching existing systems and working with the team to develop good economic and working practices.

Keeping stock, equipment, tools and materials in good order and advising when reordering is necessary

Keeping work areas for each process clean and tidy.

Record keeping.

Labelling and maintaining work and resources.

Contributing to the development of our inspiring teaching and learning practice.

The successful applicant will have some experience of printmaking, the desire to develop their practice and to help new students.

Qualifications:

- Good organisational skills with attention to detail

- Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team and with the general public.

- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential.

Salary £13 per hour minimum 8 hours a week, some weekend and evening work may be required
