In conjunction with the exhibition Linder: Danger Came Smiling at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea-based artists Vivian Ross-Smith and Holly Slingsby are co-curating a weekend of live performances and video works. The weekend of programming responds to the exhibition by focusing on ideas of consumption, domesticity, gender performativity, mass media, bodies, archetypal figures, and pleasure.

Submissions are now open for single-screen performance to camera works that chime with these themes. We are particularly interested in films rooted in DIY, collage, and lo-fi approaches.

Details:  Films will be shown in a showreel format throughout the opening night and the following weekend, 20 – 23 November 2025 at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea. If selected there is a £50 screening fee payable to each artist.

  • Submissions open: 12 September
  • Submission deadline: 28 September at 23:59
  • Artists informed: 13 October
  • Showing dates: 20 – 23 November 2025

Eligibility: Films should be no more than 15 minutes, must be single channel and suitable for digital projection in a showreel format.

By submitting the work you approve that you are the owner/author and give us permission to exhibit the work on the above dates. The event will be documented and therefore your work may also be photographed.
