Native Spirit Festival is unique in UK promoting First Nations / Indigenous-produced Cinema Media & Arts and currently has a Welsh Director. We're looking for help with film submissions and selections for our 19th edition in October. We're especially interested to hear from pre-selectors whose cultural heritage has been directly impacted by Colonisation, and speakers / students of Indigenous languages (including: Welsh, Irish, Scottish, Manx, Cornish) who are more likely to relate to revitalisation of languages by Native filmmakers.

You will watch and rate private screeners by First Nations filmmakers (mostly Shorts) via our FilmFreeway platform: specifically, leave a star rating, write comment, and click on recommendation to: screen, maybe, or not. We hold weekly Sunday zoom discussion sessions 7-7:40pm (not obligatory).

You will be listed as pre-selector on our FilmFreeway page, offered a pass to any ticketed events or online festival. Options to join our festival team longterm.

The festival is a project of Native Spirit Foundation, founded in 2005 by a Mapuche activist filmmaker and leader, with one objective being to create video, radio and television “for the other culture to know us without losing our identities.”

The deadline for watching films is 21 May.
