Ffolio is an exciting new partnership between Ffilm Cymru, BBC Wales, BBC Arts and the Arts Council of Wales. It will offer training, mentoring and BBC commissioning opportunities to emerging creatives in Wales without professional experience in film or TV.

If you’re a dancer, blogger, musician, writer, photographer, graffiti artist, games designer or creative in any form, we want to hear from you.

If shortlisted, you’ll receive training, bespoke support to develop your short film ideas and bursaries for costs such as travel, childcare or an interpreter.

16 ideas will be commissioned for BBC platforms on air and online.

In brief

Deadlines: The first deadline is the 3rd February 17:30pm. Further deadlines will be announced.

Film duration: 90 seconds to 5 minutes ideally

Number of ideas that will be commissioned: up to 16 short films in total.

Ideas: Your idea for round 1 of Ffolio should reflect on a theme of ‘Modern Wales’. It should push the boundaries of film, whether that be through story or experimentation with sound, image or structure. It might include animation, documentary, scripted drama or performance. However it should be achievable within a production budget of £5,000.
