Taking place in August 2025, the Fringe is an important platform for showcasing artistic work, discovering new talent, and building creative partnerships. This year, the Arts Council’s focus is on sector development, supporting individuals and organisations to engage with global industry professionals, and exploring future collaboration, touring and presentation opportunities.

Arts Council of Wales will award up to 15 bursaries to individuals and organisations. The bursaries will allow recipients to attend networking and Fringe Connect events, meetings and workshops, and experience high-quality performances.

Catryn Ramasut, Director of Arts at Arts Council of Wales said:

“The Edinburgh Fringe is a significant date in the global arts calendar—a place where artistic paths cross and career-changing connections are made. Through our Edinburgh Bursary 2025, we're investing in Welsh artists' ability to be present in these vital spaces, to engage meaningfully with international programmers and peers, and to forge the relationships that lead to future collaborations. This isn't just about attending a prestigious festival; it's about strategically positioning Welsh creative voices within global arts networks and opening pathways to international opportunities that benefit our entire cultural ecosystem.”

To maximise impact and value for the Edinburgh Bursary 2025 programme, the Arts Council will work with Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, British Council and other UK and international partners to identify relevant networking opportunities.
