Dancers Call Out for ‘Explore on Tour’ Professional Development Programme, in partnership with Dance Blast, Abergavenny.
After developing our ‘Explore’ professional development project with Artis Community in RCT, we are now embarking on a journey to roll out the project, to enable us to work with additional organisations across Wales through a new ‘Explore on Tour’ programme!
This Autumn we’ll be working in partnership with Dance Blast, in Abergavenny to explore how the programme can support freelance artists from, working in , or with an interest to work in Monmouthshire.
The project involves skills sharing and training across community dance and dance performance practices, training both our staff and Dance Blast’s staff to be able to work across these two disciplines and explore how they can intertwine across our work. As in our RCT based project, we’ll also invite a number of independent artists onto the programme, who would like to up-skill in these areas and learn more about Ransack’s and Dance Blast’s work. Applications are now open to dance artists that would like to join us in the training programme.
Successful applicants will receive the following training opportunities:
-Attendance at the ‘Explore’ community dance practice training days
-Paid shadowing opportunities across Dance Blast’s community dance and aerial dance programme in Abergavenny/Monmouthshire.
-Joining Ransack Dance Company in our open research and development (R&D) rehearsal week, to explore choreographic ideas for a new production work.
-Daily professional company class with Ransack Dance Company during the R&D week.
-Opportunity to take part in mentoring and feedback sessions with ours and/or Dance Blast’s Artistic Directors.
-Performance opportunity - sharing the R&D work created through the project at our ‘EXPLORE on Tour’ celebration event.
