Fee: £300 per day for a maximum of 23 days each creative
Timeframe:  July 2024 – December 2024 (this may be extended)

We are looking for innovative Creatives from Welsh speaking and ethnically diverse and minority communities to help us deliver our Arts Council Wales funded Cysylltu a Ffynnu/Connect & Flourish project between Conwy County Borough Council, Menter Iaith Conwy, Race Council Cymru & Venue Cymru.

To be a Creative for this project you could be a: costume designer, musician, performer, circus artist, lighting designer, graphic designer, illustrator, digital artist, dancer, sculptor, crafter, potter, maker etc… we don’t want to be prescriptive about your creativity.

Our project aims to develop Conwy's art sector.  To reflect the rich diversity of life in Wales and ensure that access to, engaging in, creating, experiencing and building a career in the arts is accessible to anyone. We have a specific focus on reaching and connecting with new participants and potential audiences, from Welsh speaking and ethnically diverse communities.

We don't know what will be created; the process of discovery with you and the communities is what makes this project so valuable to us.

What are we looking for?

This is flexible – we want to find creatives that are interested in working with people to develop ideas and projects. A co-creation between us and communities that are currently underserved by the arts opportunities available to them.

To do this we need creatives who can come in to the project with an open mind about what activities might be like, who they might be for and who might lead them.  Individuals who can adapt their practice to the ideas, needs of the community and think outside of the box are of particular interest to us.

You must be committed to challenging “the way things are done” and open to your own learning and development throughout the programme.

You might not have experience of delivering activities in communities but you must be passionate about your community having more arts experiences.  You relish the opportunity to share your skills with others.

We can support you to take the next step in developing your creativity in new ways.
