The review is one of several commitments made as part of Arts Council of Wales’s Investment Review into its funding of arts organisations from 2024/25. The role of the Comisiynydd is to chair the steering panel that oversees the delivery of the review and its recommendations to Council.

With over 20 years' experience in the music sector as a project manager and marketing consultant, including working with WOMEX, English Folk Expo and Celtic Connections / Showcase Scotland, Universal Decca and Real World Records, Angharad has first-hand experience of the music talent and rich traditions we have in Wales.

Among her freelance work, Angharad managed the Wales Symposium for the UNESCO Year of Indigenous Languages ran the spin-off international indigenous music collaboration project, Mamiaith and collaborated with a US-based international festival producer and music promoter identify opportunities for musicians from Wales.

Angharad has positive and collaborative working relationships with key organisations, individuals and performers involved in the Welsh traditional music and is looking forward to engaging with a broad musical community to hear their views, experiences and ideas.

Work is already underway on the first task of co-designing the review approach with key partners.
