We wish to appoint a studio technician to support the reorganisation of our thriving ceramics studio. In addition to the technician role we are offering the opportunity to have personal use of our artist residency space 1 day a week.

Mid Wales Arts is a thriving community organisation in a unique setting, with 3 sought after contemporary galleries, 2 art studios, artist residency spaces, spacious grounds and a cafe. We offer a wide range of art workshops and clubs with particular emphasis on ceramics and printmaking.

This post has come about thanks to an award by Powys Shared Prosperity Fund to enable our transition. This position is funded for 6 months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Reviewing existing systems and working with the team to develop new efficiencies.

Keeping equipment, tools and materials and stores in good order and reordering when necessary

Loading and unloading the kiln (training provided).

Keeping work areas for each process clean and tidy.

Record keeping.

Labelling and maintaining work and resources.

Contributing to the development of our inspiring teaching and learning practice.

The successful applicant will have an interest in ceramics, the desire to learn more and to help new students.

Qualifications:

- Good organisational skills with attention to detail

- Good inter- personal skills, the ability to work in a team and with the general public.

-The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential.

Salary £13 per hour minimum 8 hours a week, some weekend and evening work may be required
