Theatres, arts centres, venues and galleries need high quality, distinctive and exciting work that will attract audiences and help them reach new target groups.
Create can support the presentation and touring of work in all artforms, allowing venues to offer high-quality and varied programming.
We're keen to support:
-
Venues and galleries programming work that is beyond the reach of their usual audiences or core programming.
-
Ambitious, high quality and wide-ranging programming.
-
Programming work that allows venues to reach new audiences or address geographical gaps in provision
-
Programming new and innovative work that targets and reaches children, young people and their families.
-
Projects involving producers or curators working collaboratively with venues or galleries to co-commission and present performing arts and visual and applied arts work more widely.
-
Projects that present work by D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent people, Black, Asian and Ethnically diverse people.
-
Projects that present Welsh language work.
-
Programming of work created by people from protected characteristic groups.
-
Programming that is affordable and accessible.
-
Projects that provide opportunities to engage widely and deeply with audiences.
-
Projects that offer programming for Welsh speakers of all levels.
-
Projects that trial new ways of programming/presenting/touring in a more resilient way in the current circumstances.
-
Projects that tour work across Wales, particularly outside the main urban areas.
We will not support:
-
Projects that haven’t sufficiently considered the audiences they are trying to reach, or the barriers that might prevent them engaging.
-
Projects that haven’t demonstrated a commitment to deliver high quality work.
-
Projects that don’t convincingly demonstrate how this enhances existing programming.
-
Projects that don’t give sufficient consideration to equalities, accessibility, diversity, the Welsh language and wider reach.
