Frân Wen announce the artists selected through their Your Radical Teenager call out.

The project gives artists with 20+ years of experience the opportunity to reconnect with their rebellious teenage selves and develop new work which is raw, fearless, and unapologetic.

This project is a part of Frân Wen's Artist Development Programme which facilitates research and development residencies and provides resources for artists to develop new ideas for original and exciting work.

Meet the visionaries

🌟 Rhiannon Mair: Gwenllian
Theatre and performance practitioner Rhiannon Mair will develop a multi-disciplinary project inspired by Princess Gwenllian. Part pilgrimage, part protest - Rhiannon will develop a durational performance that will take the audience and the performers together as it delves into gender, identity, power, and legacy.

🌟 Hannah McPake: Beast
Actor, director and playwright Hannah McPake will explore how to twist ancient myths into a supernatural near-future where language shifts, power mutates, and identity is a battle fought on multiple fronts. Are you ready for the monsters we carry?

🌟 Catrin Williams and Pat Morgan: Be’ Ddigwyddodd? (What Happened?)
Abstract landscape artist Catrin and musician Patricia Morgan from the iconic band Datblygu are set to tear up the rulebook, fusing raw visuals with sonic landscapes. What does rebellion sound and look like? When art and music collide, can Welsh identity be reimagined?

Each artist will receive £1,500 to develop their ideas with the Frân Wen team, working closely with the Artistic Director and Producer.
