MovieMaker is Chapter’s monthly showcase of short films and conversations with the creatives behind them. For Deaf Gathering Cymru which takes place between 21 and 23 November we’re looking for deaf filmmakers to share their work with our audience in a safe and supported environment.

All genres and experience levels are welcome, and ideally submissions should be under 15 minutes long (but we’ll also consider slightly longer). It's free to submit a film, and we’ll host post-screening discussions to offer you a chance to share your thoughts with the audience.

The event will be hosted in BSL with interpreters and captioners available. We’ll also check in with you to see if you have any additional access needs.

Please send your films, and any questions you may have, to moviemaker@chapter.org. Submissions should be received by Friday 19 September.

Deaf Gathering Cymru is a deaf-led festival in Cardiff led by Deaf Gwdihŵ with Heather Williams and Jonny Cotsen, and Chapter. Open to everyone, the three-day celebration offers a dynamic programme of culture and conversation with deaf perspectives at the centre.

Deaf Gathering Cymru is brought to you by Chapter and Deaf Gwdihw and is funded by Arts Council Wales. We’re delighted that this year our Primary Sponsor is Deaf Health Wales.
