This week, in the third of Volcano's The Shape of Things to Come performance series, cheery Sales Manager Sara Hartel will guide you (as part of the newly recruited workforce) through your induction training and try to keep you in line, maximise your team’s productivity, and generate lots of points for our shareholders!

Welcome to the world of game theatre, where the audience are the contestants. But the tasks are becoming more and more absurd and the pressure to hit your targets may start to get to you. Co-operate for mutual benefit and stand up to management or choose to betray your fellow players in a bid to advance your own interests at the expense of theirs.

SARA HARTEL is a non-binary theatre maker based in Barry (near Cardiff) with a strong focus on immersive, interactive performances. Influenced by developers who create alternative reality games to make the world a better place, they aim to create experiences that are fun, pleasurable, and mischievous, and that generate social connection and empathy and allow the audience to change or influence outcomes. They have worked with Hijinx and National Theatre Wales and created interactive performances that have introduced young people to theatre through alternative routes.

STRIKE LIMITED is at Volcano 20 - 22 July. Created and performed by Sara Hartel.
