Pilot meeting to set up new dance-working group in RCT

CICH RCT’s focus is to build a bigger arts and creative industries cluster in RCT through networking and engagement events and targeted creative business and startup

support. The project aims to increase collaboration and innovation between creatives, businesses and organisations.

We invite all people working in dance across RCT, (or who would like to work in RCT going forward), to join us for an initial pilot meeting to form a new RCT cluster dance working group. All people involved in dance across the county are welcome from dancers, choreographers, school and college teachers, community dance practitioners and those working in other artforms that may tie into dance e.g. musicians and composers, film artists, costume and set designers and producers. The group is for freelancers, employed people and organisations and businesses to come together to discuss the current successes and challenges of dance in RCT and to discuss what is needed to develop it and how the project can support this.

The project is about supporting both individuals and organisations to develop their strategic business plans and skills in order to thrive and develop going forward. We’ll also discuss how we can collaborate and network more effectively and again how the project can support this. As part of the project, The University of South Wales is also offering funded places on their ‘Start-up Stiwdio’ programme to support entrepreneurs from or working/would like to work in RCT with their start up business ideas.

Find out more about the Creative Industries Cluster Hubs project including the Start-up Stiwdio here:

The meeting will be facilitated by Sarah Rogers from Ransack Dance Company and will also be attended by Richie Turner from The University of South Wales. It’s a relaxed open conversation where any ideas and opinions are welcome. This will be the first pilot meeting in which we will develop ideas about how the project may develop going forward.
