ST MARY’S CHURCH

Gruff Rhys | KhakiKid | Melin Melyn | Panic Shack

Westside Cowboy | Ye Vagabonds

With just a month to go, Panic Shack, Melin Melyn, and KhakiKid have been announced as acts joining the Church lineup for Other Voices Cardigan, which takes place 30th October - 1st November. They join Gruff Rhys, Westside Cowboy and Ye Vagabonds for intimate performances that will be live-streamed worldwide across the weekend via the Other Voices' YouTube channel and later broadcast on TV and on BBC Wales, BBC iPlayer, RTÉ and RTÉ Player via media partners BBC Wales and RTÉ. Legendary BBC broadcaster and Other Voices regular Huw Stephens plays host to the sixth edition of this magical Welsh-Irish festival which will take over Aberteifi for three days of glorious music across all genres.

Cardiff Quintet Panic Shack bring their frenetic energy and effervescent brand of socially conscious, intoxicating indie-punk to the Other Voices line-up – their eponymous top 40 album has been one of this year’s most talked about debuts, and 2025 has seen them play Glasto, Reading, Leeds and SXSW and supported the likes of Bob Vylan, Soft Play and Orlando Weeks.

Other Voices favourites from 2024, Melin Melyn are more than just a band.  One of the leading acts from the new golden generation of artists from Cymru, Melin Melyn play catchy vintage psychedelic country-surf-pop-twang tunes, inhabited by a cast of colourful characters and magical worlds that chime with today’s off-kilter reality. From mischievous wizards to farmers’ riots, this is eccentricity at its finest; like the love child of Gruff Rhys and Gorky’s, Melin Melyn are “absolutely joyous and downright fun.” - Focus Wales

Hailing from Dublin, KhakiKid draws on influences from Tyler, The Creator, Mac Miller and Irish contemporaries like Kojaque and Bricknasty. The result is a sound that is entirely his own – jazz-tinged, offbeat and emotionally resonant. Playful and self-aware, his songwriting carries both the humour and the heart of his Arab-Irish roots, and have earned him a flourishing cult following in Ireland and beyond.

DJ sets have also been revealed for the Hwb at Mwldan; Canol / Connections / DJ Branwen (Goldhill Disco) / DJ Jazzy G / Good Nature Party / Moonshine Sounds / Pyramid Scheme gyda/with Aled Simons / Yann De Galles will keep the dancefloor energy pumping between live sets and into the small hours over the weekend.

The full festival schedule, featuring over 100 live performances across Cardigan over the festival weekend, will be available from mid-October via the ‘Other Voices’ festival App. The app is packed with information on who’s on where and when, plus profiles of all artists appearing, and links to playlists to get you super excited for what’s in store. The festival is grateful for the generous support of this year's App sponsors; Cardigan Bay Properties, Wnco Mwnco Wines, The Cellar, Three Little Pigs, Siop y Pentre Cilgerran, Caws Teifi, O.C.Davies, Hiut Denim, Manucci’s, Tŷ Annie, Snip N’ Slice, Bay Coffee Roasters and Yonder.food. The full schedule will be revealed via the app over the coming weeks.

Eluned Morgan, First Minister of Wales, said:

“Other Voices has become a highlight of the Welsh festival calendar, welcoming some of our top music talent into the heart of Aberteifi every autumn. This year’s festival has one of its most exciting line-ups so far, with new Welsh acts performing alongside some of our best-loved and internationally recognised artists.

“Earlier this year I renewed our Ireland-Wales Shared Statement with the Irish Tánaiste, which includes culture as a key part of our cooperation. The festival celebrates our musical and language links, continuing the Irish-Welsh relationship which goes from strength to strength.

“I look forward to another vibrant Other Voices festival in Aberteifi again this year.”

Denise McQuade, Consul General of Ireland said:

“It’s wonderful to see Other Voices, Cardigan take place again this year, bringing together some of the best artists Ireland and Wales have to offer. The richness of this cultural collaboration is just one of many aspects of the growing cooperation between Ireland and Wales in recent years.

Aberteifi is buzzing with creativity during Other Voices and I’m looking forward to returning.”

Clebran and Other Voices Cardigan are staged with the support of Welsh Government, The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Reconciliation Fund, and are produced by South Wind Blows in partnership with Mwldan and Triongl.
