Responsible for: Freelance Community Artists/Videography tutors/Volunteers

 

Project Dates: April 2025 – Jan 2026

 

Terms: Freelance, Fee of £15,000

Location: Ystradgynlais, some remote working possible

 

Role: 

  • Develop, prepare and implement plans for our Art & Activism at the Heart of the Coalfield project that reaches out to schools, community organisations & wider communities, ensuring a high-quality project that runs to schedule and on budget.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, preparing and implementing an inclusive engagement and events programme
  • Recruiting and supporting a team of freelancers and volunteers to deliver workshops in digital storytelling/oral history/banner making
  • Leading the team in delivering a series of workshops and events, including various site visits
  • Identify training opportunities and support for a small number of volunteers
  • Supporting the marketing and PR of the project
  • Developing positive relationships and partnerships with community organisations & community members to ensure that the programme reflects the social diversity of the area and its needs
  • Risk management & budget management for the project
  • Lead on programme evaluation process with support from a freelance external evaluator to measure impact against a set of objectives and outcomes
  • Any other activity as required for the successful delivery of the project, as deemed appropriate

 

Experience Required: 

  • significant project management experience in an Arts and or Heritage role including evaluation of projects
  • excellent interpersonal, networking & community engagement skills
  • Ability to attend sessions in Ystradgynlais in person

Experience Desired:

  • Welsh language skills
  • an understanding of the community & history of Ystradgynlais
