The Aloud Charity is looking for a Development Manager (Maternity Leave) to implement and deliver its fundraising and communications strategies.

Development Manager application pack 2025

The Development Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining income streams from a wide range of sources including Trusts and Foundations, Individual Giving, and Corporate Sponsorship. This includes ensuring that the communication with funders, stakeholders and potential stakeholders is of the highest quality and is appropriate in regularity, tone and content.

The Development Manager sits in the Senior Team, is line-managed by the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for engaging volunteers to support front of house activity at events. The Development Team includes three other freelancers who also report to the Chief Executive Officer and it is expected that regular communication happens across the wider team to ensure appropriate delivery of Aloud’s ambitions.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • At least 2 years’ experience of fundraising in one or more of the following areas – Trusts and Foundations, Public Funding, Individual Giving, Corporate Sponsorship
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong track record of using persuasive language and content to engage with stakeholders and potential stakeholders
  • Experience of monitoring budgets, with the ability to manage income records accurately
  • A passion for supporting the arts and young people in Wales
  • Self-motivation, ambition and the ability to work well independently or within a team
