Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC) seeks quotes for the design, management and delivery of a large-scale lantern parade for Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire Autumn 2024 funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The Haverfordwest Lantern Parade will be an iconic event that will contribute to the county's cultural landscape and appeal to local residents and visitors alike. The parade will be a large-scale, outdoor evening event on a weekend September - November 2024, with advanced community workshops to create the lanterns that form part of a stewarded public procession through the town centre. The parade will be accompanied with live music and culminate in a final celebratory performance in the town centre. The parade is expected to attract between 2000 – 4000 people.
The supplier is expected to manage the process from start to finish, beginning with designing the creative vision for the event, working closely with artists or other subcontractors to deliver creative content, negotiating with relevant PCC departments to secure licences and permission, securing venues and working closely with schools, community groups and individuals to deliver workshops, marketing, managing all event related logistics and health and safety measures, and handling post event logistics.
An additional budget is available for PCC to commission a filmmaker to create pre event digital assets and a short legacy celebratory film. The event supplier must take responsibility for still photographic documentation.
Quotes are invited in the region of £23,000. Quotes over £25,000 will be rejected.
