The Arts Council of Wales has announced that it is adjusting the opening dates of two National Lottery funds.

This follows the recent Welsh Government announcement of a second round of the Cultural Recovery Fund.  The Fund provides Welsh Government support to those facing significant financial hardship resulting from current pandemic related restrictions. The Arts Council of Wales will be administering those elements of the Fund for cultural organisations. The Welsh Government will administer funds for creative industries organisations and for individuals..

The urgent need to progress the Cultural Recovery Fund means that we are having to put back two application dates.  The programmes affected are the Arts and Health and the Create National Lottery Funds. Both funds will now open to applications on 6th May.

Commenting today, Richard Nicholls, Director Operations, Arts Council of Wales, said:

“With Cultural Recovery Fund 2 opening to applications on 6th April, we need to focus on administering this fund as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Many organisations are facing unprecedented financial challenges that in some cases affects their very survival.  It’s therefore essential that we focus on the obvious need to provide support as quickly as we can.

“This means that our National Lottery funding programmes will open around three weeks later than originally stated with the application window for our new Arts and Health and Create funding schemes now opening on 6th May.”

The second round of the Cultural Recovery Fund opens on 6th April and closes to applications on 20th April.
