Cultural Recovery fund 2 – to be delivered jointly by the Welsh Government, the Arts Council of Wales and local authorities has now opened to applications with up to £30m available to help the sector. The Application Process opens on the 6th of April and closes at 5pm on the 20th of April. 

Applicants should determine their eligibility and application pathway by first visiting We will only be handling applications from organisations (not invididuals).  

If the checker determines that you are eligible to apply to the Arts Council of Wales, and you don't already have an an online account with us (possibly because you haven’t previously applied to us for funding,  please register for one as soon as possible by visting: It could take up to five days to register an account and we will not be able to accept late applications.

At the time the fund was announced on 20th March,  Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas said:

“We recognise the unprecedented challenges the pandemic is having on the cultural fabric of Welsh life and we applaud the resilience and creativity on show.

 “We all want to be back in theatres, cinemas and our local gig venues and galleries as soon as possible, but we must stay patient. We have been honest and realistic with people in Wales from the outset, rather than painting the most optimistic picture we can.

 “With that in mind we have listened and worked with the cultural and creative sectors to put this additional package of support in place and I’m certain it will provide welcome relief, as well as building blocks for the future.”
