We are currently seeking a Caretaker / Cleaner for our Cardiff Theatrical Services site at Tyndall Street, Cardiff and our Eastmoors site in Cardiff. The main purpose of the role will be to keep the buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition and undertake any general maintenance as and when required. You will be responsible for taking care of our facilities, carry out cleaning and maintenance duties and locking / opening up when required.
What will be required of you?
The role necessitates maintaining the building's cleanliness and order, coupled with general maintenance duties. Responsibilities include cleaning designated areas, managing cleaning product stock, reporting to the CTS Administrator, conducting routine inspections, and performing heavy-duty tasks. Specific areas such as entrance, offices, kitchens, and grounds require meticulous attention, involving tasks like vacuuming, disinfecting, and tidying.
Key responsibility areas encompass various sections of the facility, with an emphasis on security, weekly maintenance at Eastmoors, and ensuring a steady supply of cleaning products. Compliance with health and safety regulations is imperative.
What you will need to have?
You should have proven experience in cleaning and maintenance roles and carrying out routine inspections and maintenance activities. You will have experience of managing cleaning supplies, strong organisational skills with attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
You will be able to handle heavy-duty cleaning tasks and special projects, proactively make adjustments and minor repairs, work together effectively with colleagues, prioritize health and safety regulations, and demonstrate good time management skills. Additionally, reliability in fulfilling keyholding responsibilities.
What we can offer you?
Competitive Salary £21,131.76 per annum, increasing to £23,200.32 per annum in April 2024.
Annual Leave Colleagues are entitled to 25 days annual leave (pro-rata for part time hours) each full holiday leave year which runs from 1st September to 31 August. Bank and public holidays are in addition to this. After 5 years, your holiday will increase to 28 days.
