Delivered by the Arts Council of Wales in partnership with Welsh Government, the programme has supported schools in developing new approaches to curriculum design, supported teachers in exploring innovative approaches and supported learners to realise their full potential.

Since its launch in 2015, 1,397 schools have engaged with the programme, creating over 370,000 opportunities for learners to participate in creative learning activities, ranging from visits to arts and cultural venues through to collaborating with creative practitioners on bespoke enquiry-led experiences in the classroom.

As well as supporting teachers to develop creative learning methods, the last decade has succeeded in creating a buzz within the arts sector here in Wales, creating work opportunities for almost 4,000 creative professionals.

“It’s been wonderful to see how so many of our young people in Wales have developed and flourished on their learning journey as a result of engaging with the opportunities offered to them as part of Creative Learning through the Arts. The achievements of the programme have been extraordinary – the impact has been transformational not only for learners, but for teachers, schools and artists. Our partnership with Welsh Government has supported us to reflect and respond to the changing needs of our schools ensuring that creativity and arts-rich experiences are embedded into learning opportunities across Wales.”
