Artes Mundi is seeking expressions of interest for potential new trustees to join our Board.
We are looking for people who can contribute to Artes Mundi’s future planning and current work through their skills, knowledge and networks in support of the staff team, as well as assisting with the delivery of our mission.
We particularly want to hear from people with backgrounds in the governance of small charitable organisations, and from those with an understanding of policy contexts for bodies based in Wales.
Artes Mundi delivers the UK’s largest single international award in the visual arts, and a major biennial exhibition that showcases the shortlisted artists. Beyond these core projects, Artes Mundi offers a rich year-round programme of dialogues and debates, projects and events, internationally and locally, that develop greater understanding of ourselves, of others, and of the relations between familiar and distant cultures.
We especially encourage expressions of interest in potential Trustees from people of colour and younger people as well as those whose experiences and perspectives are currently under-represented on the Board and in the arts sector. An empathy with Artes Mundi’s values is essential. An immediate knowledge of the contemporary arts is desirable but not essential, since this develops within the Trustees’ roles.
For an informal conversation and further information, please email opportunities@artesmundi.org for the joint attention of Chair of Trustees Mike Tooby, and Artes Mundi Director Nigel Prince, quoting ‘Trustee Recruitment’ in the subject line.
