Adverse Camber is one of the UK’s leading storytelling production companies. Based in the UNESCO world heritage Derwent Valley Mills in Derbyshire, we are an acknowledged sector leader.  Adverse Camber has a strong track record of supporting Welsh storytellers and working with Welsh organisational partners. This includes current projects Cysur y Sêr, supporting 10 bilingual storytellers, funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund in association with Project Nos – the Dark Skies Partnership for North Wales, and Stars and their Consolations, a Wales-wide tour in 2026, funded by Arts Council Wales and produced in association with Theatrau Sir Gâr. Both projects are also supported by Colwinston Trust and the Darkley Trust.

The company initiates participatory and engagement projects for young people, national sector support, and commissioning and producing high quality story-based multi-artform performances and public events, in partnership with artists, practitioners, partners and venues.
