Job Introduction:

In 2021, the BBC announced plans to move even more of our productions to bases across the UK. The creation of BBC Audio Wales and the West of England has seen teams in Cardiff and Bristol lead the way with a variety of programmes and podcasts for Radio 3, Radio 4, World Service and BBC Sounds.

This role will work specifically on our arts and music output, covering both features and live concert recordings. Our output includes Radio 3’s daily strand Composer of the Week. Recent concerts have included the Hay Festival lunchtime series and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, and recent Radio 4 features have included the mini series How to Play and documentary Idle Talk: Wales’ Oral Tradition.

BBC Audio has around 670 editorial and technical staff who create and deliver more than 100 hours of original audio every day. Our podcasts and radio programmes are heard across the UK and around the world and we work with some of the biggest names in music, entertainment and journalism. We collaborate with world class partners to deliver social value. This is just a selection of the 22,500 programmes we work on every year - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcaudio.
