The Lab, a new multi-arts space and bar/cafe in Eagle’s Meadow Shopping Centre, Wrexham has launched a packed programme of events for the first few months of 2025, including a party night on Friday 31 January.

On Friday 31 January at 8.30pm, you can listen or dance or just enjoy a drink and some food at the Kizomba Party. Featuring Eudie/DJ Lady E (founder of Kizomba Merseyside who can be found behind the decks at events throughout) along with local DJs Oz Papoite and Hdee playing a mix of Kizomba, Semba, Retro Zouk, Ghetto Zouk, and Kompa. 

Come to the dance class with Eudie at 8.30-9.30 and learn some moves; and/or join for the party at 9.30pm-2am. Entry is £10 cash on the door (with or without the class).

There’s another Kizomba event on Friday 28 February, 8.30pm, and on Saturday 29 March The Lab is hosting the north West qualifier for the Kizomba UK open championship.

On Wednesdays it’s Hip Hop day - all workshops and events are £5 per person.

4-5pm Under 16s rap workshop with Dave Acton of Larynx Entertainment.

5-6pm Breakin’ classes for all with BBoy Flexton of UK Breakin’. 

6-7.30pm Popping for all with Tom Kiba.

8pm to 11pm Hip Hop social/jam night that invites fans and artists to bring their skills to learn, share and play – featuring musicians, dancers, DJs, rappers, beatboxers, graffiti black book sessions and others.

On Thursdays it’s learn to dance day, classes are £10.

4-5pm Indian Folk Dance classes with Krishnapriya.

7-8pm Belly Dance classes with Alyna.

Shopping centre parking is available under the venue.

New events and activities are being programmed all the time and the venue is available for hire for events, classes and other activities. Follow The Lab’s Facebook page or Avant Cymru’s Instagram for updates and advance notifications.

The Lab is a space for the whole community, with a growing programme of activities, spaces for hire, a café and bar area (burgers and hotdogs from Notorious Eatz daily 4-10pm), a Hip Hop fashion and books shop and social, performance and creative spaces.
