Job Title: NEW Voices Coordinator 

Salary: £105 for 7 hours per week 

Hours: 7 hours per week, including Tuesday Staff Team Meeting (online) & NEW Voices Rehearsals (usually Saturday mornings in blocks)

Contract Type: Freelance, Fixed Term (1 year, with potential for extension)

Location: Hybrid. Admin working from home with project delivery in North Wales

Travel: To NEW Voices rehearsals and performances in North Wales

Line Management Responsibilities: None

Responsible to: Co-Company Director (Ruth Evans)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a people-oriented and detailed Coordinator to join our staff team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in arts administration while supporting the day-to-day operations of a dynamic and growing organisation. 

The Coordinator facilitates all NEW Voices (Community Chorus) activity within NEW Sinfonia’s activity. They will have a focus on participant, venue and delivery artists coordination with detailed management of data. As well as vital on the ground support at all NEW Voices activity.

Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator will assume responsibility for the following tasks:

  • Registering and communicating with NEW Voices participants
  • Booking rehearsal spaces
  • In liaison with the Executive team, booking and coordinating members of the Artistic Team working with NEW Voices
  • Producing the music packs for the NEW Voices participants
  • Producing practice parts for NEW Voices participants
  • Organising rehearsal activities on project delivery days including registration of participants and clearing rehearsal space
  • Ensuring participants accessibility requirements are met
  • Creating seating plans for any NEW Voices performances
  • Create and collate evaluation forms for NEW Voices
  • Register KPIs for NEW Voices activity
  • In liaison with Communications Manager, produce recruitment material for the activity
  • In liaison with Communications Manager, Social media posts related to NEW Voices activity
  • To represent and positively promote the organisation at all levels
  • Any additional responsibilities as agreed between Executive Team and Coordinator on a case by case basis.

The Person

Essential 

  • Music related degree and/or significant professional experience in the music sector
  • Passion for engagement within the classical music sector
  • Strong communication skills
  • Competent IT and administrative skills
  • Experience supporting community participants
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and effective manner
  • The ability to be an effective team player
  • A flexible, hands-on approach with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

  • Ability and willingness to travel to project activity

  • Fluent Welsh Language skills in reading, writing and speaking
  • Project coordination experience

  • Understanding of community development
  • Experience working on large scale music projects
  • Experience working with diverse communities and cultural practices
  • Experience working in public or charitable sector music 

As part of our safeguarding commitment, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting the role. Mentoring and training will also be provided.
