Creative Cardiff Classrooms is a new series of events hosted by Creative Cardiff which are deep dives into developing new creative skills, delivered in small group workshops with an experienced facilitator. Subsidised by Creative Cardiff, all Classroom events are just £10 to attend.
Make 2024 the year you finally write that novel with the first Classroom event in our series. Writer Tiffany Murray will lead a session on 'Starting your memoir' on Tuesday 6 February between 10:00 - 15:00.
Do you want to write your story, or a family story in some form? Then this exclusive short course is for you. Led by award winning writer Tiffany Murray, this fun and open workshop is for writers of all levels. If you want to write memoir you must use the tools of fiction to hold a reader’s attention, and if you want to write fiction based on real-life experience you must mine and examine the stories using these same tools. Tiffany will help you access your stories, so you can craft them into a narrative. Whether you want to write for publication or simply to get these stories down, this day will open up your creativity.
Tiffany Murray’s memoir, My Family and Other Rock Stars is published by Little Brown in 2024. Her novels Diamond Star Halo, Happy Accidents and Sugar Hall, have variously been shortlisted for the Wodehouse Bollinger Prize and received the Roger Deakin Award for nature writing. Tiffany has been a Hay Festival Fiction Fellow, a Fulbright scholar, and a Senior Lecturer. Her series, ‘Hulda’s Café’ is available on BBC Radio 4.
