Freelance Grant Writer and Fundraiser. 10 month contract.

As a Freelance Grant Writer and Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in securing funding and resources for our organisation. You will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals, as well as developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Grant Writing:

   • Conduct in-depth research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organisation's mission and goals.
   • Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other grant-making entities.
   • Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to gather information and insights for grant applications.
   • Ensure all grant proposals are submitted on time and meet the requirements of the funding organisations.

2. Fundraising Strategy:

   • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to diversify funding sources and support organisational sustainability.
   • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.

3. Grant Management:

   • Oversee the grant management process, including reporting requirements, compliance, and follow-up with funders.
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related activities, deadlines, and outcomes.
   • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper budgeting and financial reporting for grant-funded projects.

4. Communication:

   • Craft compelling narratives about the organisation's impact and projects to incorporate into grant proposals and fundraising materials.
   • Develop and maintain strong communication channels with donors, providing regular updates on the organisation's activities and achievements.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a grant writer and fundraiser, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and techniques.
• Familiarity with various grant-making entities and their application processes.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for donor engagement.
• Proficient in using fundraising software and tools.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, nonprofit management) is preferred.

Working Conditions: This is a freelance position remote working. The role may require occasional attendance at organisational events or meetings.
