The Road Taken
Looking back, the man remembers a series of forgotten things -
faces, far off places, laughter, and song.
On the road that leads far from the Rhondda
he traces a finger, finding comfort in its curve.
From Llwynypia hospital, born of Bill and Blod,
he followed the stars, taking a path to the Arts.
But that separate trail to all things Health ran parallel -
Two arms, two hands, and fingers pointing forward.
Quietly, he filled the border between with seeds
and that is where the man sat, roots cascading deep.
Young and old they came for his stories
but left a little lighter - their troubles perched less painful.
Taking their hands, he pressed hope into every step,
reassuring them that ahead awaits places to thrive.
Now the man opens the gate. Smiling he watches them stride through,
their route renewed, hearts refilled.

er y boen, ail-lunio'r byd.
