Ballet Cymru is based in Rogerstone, Newport, and has been hosting dance intensive courses in Wales for over twenty years. The Company is offering two fantastic dance programmes taking place at the Riverfront in Newport this summer;

WALES SUMMER DANCE 2024

Monday 22nd July – Friday 26th July 2024, 9.30am-5.00pm.

Free showcase performance on Friday 26th July 2024, 4.00-5.00pm

Join us on this week long intensive with classes taught by the professional dancers of the company. The course includes ballet technique class, company ballet repertoire and new creative choreography.

 

WALES INTERNATIONAL BALLET SUMMER SCHOOL 2024

Monday 29th July – Friday 2nd August 2024, 9.30am-5.30pm.

Free showcase performance on Friday 2nd August 2024, 6.00-7.00pm.

Our professional summer intensive, Wales International Ballet Summer School (WIBSS), takes place at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre. Join us on this weeklong intensive with classes taught by the company directors and guest teachers and repertoire led by the professional dancers of the company. We also welcome back Marcus Jarrell Willis, Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre, who will create new work on the participants of WIBSS.

The course includes ballet technique class, ballet repertoire and new choreography with additional pointe work, technique coaching, pas de deux, contemporary, conditioning and stretching. Pointe work experience is not essential for this course.

FREE PERFORMANCES!

There will be a performance of work created throughout the week on the final day of each course, which will take place on the main stage at The Riverfront, Newport and are free for friends and family to attend.

Participants must apply for a place on the course and there are limited spaces available. All applicants must complete an online application form.

Applications must be submitted before Friday 28th June 2024.
