The Constant Guest tells the story of intersectionality through the real life experiences of Alisha Ahmed, a queer, fat, neurodivergent, immigrant of colour, how both oppression and privilege played key roles in the development of a life coming from the margins.

Having worked in the music industry, journalism, theatre, online content creation, and now as an intersectionality educator for a grassroots organisation, Alisha hopes that by sharing her story, and the lessons they’ve learned over the years this workshop will be able to provide some insight into the challenges we all face under a capitalistic system.

Part spoken word, part personal story, and part academic research, this vulnerable and nuanced exploration of the challenges we all now face aims to bring a diverse audience together through shared struggles, and victories, so that we might carve out a space for ourselves to thrive in the world.
