Newport Live and The Riverfront theatre & Arts Centre in association with Newport BID (Business Improvement District) & Newport Transport are thrilled to be bringing family arts festival, the Big Splash back to Newport city centre this 22 & 23 July.

We have a fantastic opportunity to perform & we are looking for community groups and artists who would like to take part in both the Celebrate Stage & our Terrace Stage

If you are a local choir, dance group, musician, poet, storyteller, or other performer and would like to be on the celebrate stage then please get in touch as we would love to showcase you or your organisation.

Newport Live is committed to representing as diverse a group of communities as possible. We expressly seek and encourage applications from all genders, age ranges, Welsh language performers, people with disabilities and representatives from LGBTQIA+ communities and global majorities.

Celebrate Stage

We will provide:

  • Performance space – Milos Mini 6.5 x 4.5m covered stage with steel deck at 1.2m with treads at rear of stage.
  • D&B PA and Monitoring provided.
  • Pre-programmed Lighting
  • Backline provided (but must be booked in advance)
  • Drum Kit, Bass Combo, 2x Guitar Combos, Keyboard

Terrace Stage

We will provide:

  • Steel deck performance space on the River Walkway
  • Access to a PA
  • Microphones provided

All acts will be required to supply:

  • Valid and sufficient insurance cover
  • A risk assessment          
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) if working with young or vulnerable people.
  • If children are performing, you will require the appropriate license from your local council (BOPA)
  • Any electrical equipment must be recently PAT tested.

Each act can be from15 to 45 minutes in length. You should be available on 22nd or 23rd July 2023. Your act must be family friendly & suitable for all ages throughout. The stage will be live from 1100-1700 on Saturday 22nd & 1130 – 1630 on Sunday 23rd July. You will be connected to a Stage Manager on the day of the event.
