Performance Butty Summer School

For 16-25 yr olds

Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal

1st - 7th September 2019

Artist Stefhan Caddick and invited artists Sam Hasler, Teddy Hunter and others will collaborate with groups of young people as they journey from Brecon to Pontymoile Basin over the course of a week. The floating, experimental art school will set sail on MBACT's newly refurbished community boat. During the journey the groups will respond to the unique environment of the canal through sculpture, performance, sound and text, creating canal-side performances and artworks, building towards a public event at Pontymoile Basin, Pontypool.

Artist and writer Sam Hasler will also be in residence during the Summer School week, exploring the canal as a fictional and cinematic space and contributing the public event.

Places are very limited so please get in touch if you’re interested in coming on board!
