Gethin Evans has been announced as the new Artistic Director of Frân Wen theatre company.
Evans, currently joint Artistic Director of Cardiff based theatre company Cwmni Pluen Company and a freelance director, will take on the role in the autumn of 2019.
Originally from Denbigh, Gethin trained at University of South Wales and has sincedirected various successful productions including Woof, Little Red Riding Hood and MAGS. He was Assistant Director on National Theatre's production of Pericles (part of their Public Acts community initiative)and a former Associate Director at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff. Other recent credits include Theatr Clwyd, National Theatre of Wales and Chichester Festival Theatre.
Of his appointment, Gethin said:

"It's a privilege to join the team at Frân Wen and I look forward to leading the artistic vision of the company at such an exciting stage in its history. My aim is to develop new relationships with communities, artists and organisations, and create a contemporary, accessible and ambitious artistic programme in the Welsh language for new and existing audiences."
