UNESCO’s consultation on the ‘Futures of Education’ involved us organising regional focus groups and collaborating with other education leaders in a HundrED global discussion on ‘embracing the learning that happens everywhere’.
These discussions about the future of education became a catalyst for the creation of this network as we wanted to broaden the audience and consider the vital role of creativity, arts and culture in the future vision of education.
In this session, we will be joined by Peter Worth. Peter is an educator and learning designer working at the intersection of school leadership, design thinking, professional learning, and school culture change.
Together, we will explore how we might start moving from ideas to action in building a culture that supports equitable creative learning. Peter will share tools and examples from his work in School Retool and beyond. Then we will shift into a collaborative discussion around questions of empathy, equity, and action:
- How might the levers of design help me to get started and try something new?
- From my sphere of influence, what can I do tomorrow that will help me get started?
These sessions create a space for educators, artists, stakeholders and advocates to collaborate, discuss and imagine the future in order to inspire the present.
